The Meeting House

The Meeting House is a 36-unit mixed-income building where Dorchester’s Jones Hill, Meetinghouse Hill and Savin Hill neighborhoods meet, completed in 2020 on the site of two former auto body shops. In response to community feedback during permitting, Arx Urban secured public funding to go well beyond the City’s 13% affordability requirement: 58% of the homes are income-restricted at workforce and affordable levels through the MassHousing Workforce Housing Initiative and the City of Boston Community Preservation Act (CPA) Fund. The Meeting House was the first project ever funded by the CPA Fund.

The building is all-electric with rooftop solar and includes The Meeting House Doors Project, for which Arx Urban commissioned four local artists during the COVID-19 pandemic to create installations on each apartment entry door.
